Molly's Garden

enclosure with shower screen shelter

In my garden I have a little house it cost £25 from ebay, it was actually a 2nd hand hen coop

I searched for dog kennel, outdoor rabbit hutch, hen coop. It measures 46cmx46cm (hgt)x60cm. New from pet connection £54

Check its tall enough for a light. About 50cm

Inside my house I have a frost heater with built in thermostat (set at 11c)and an outdoor light which gets quite warm. (32c).Dad drilled a hole in the wall of their house to put a thick cable through.

It is lined with vinyl flooring. Then 20 cm deep soil on top. The roof is insulated with heat resistant insulation designed to withstand heat from car engine. The the door has a plastic curtain made from a laminating pouch cut into strips.

Mum did most of this  on her own but daddy helped with drilling a hole in the wall for electric cable and sawing the wood for the fence

My enclosure is about 2 x3 metres, it was paved but we have taken up alot of the paving to grow plants. The fence is made of wooden strips, you call this studwork. I have some wire fencing aswell, as I prefer Gizmo, my dog , to stay in his own garden. There is also some pond netting over the top but we don't always use that. I had a sun lounge made of an old shower screen before they built me a proper conservatory and an outdoor lamp under it for chilly days. I rely on natural sunlight for UVB but if I were younger, I'd probably need a a uvb bulb too.

Mum has collected some wild plants to grow in pots for me. It makes it easier for next door to feed me extra  plants when mum is on holiday.
